How to beat Crota’s End
Crota’s End is the Destiny 1 classic, brought back with current-day loot and the exotic auto rifle Necrochasm. It’s short and beginner-friendly, but it has one quirk that catches fresh teams: you can’t just walk in and start.
The start: kiss the crystal
To begin, all six players have to touch the big crystal at the same time — the community calls this “kissing the crystal.” Do it together and barriers briefly trap the team while Crota spawns outside. Miss the timing and nothing happens, so count it down on comms.
Encounter walkthrough
- The Abyss — A dark sprint. Your light drains in the open, so chain the lamps along the route to stay alive while you cross to the bridge. Keep the group moving together.
- Bridge — Build the bridge with light, hold the plates to keep it solid, and pass the Hive sword across to kill the Gatekeeper on the far side. Coordinate who holds plates and who carries.
- Ir Yût, the Deathsinger — She chants a team wipe on a timer. Push through the side rooms, cut her chant before it lands, then burn her down fast.
- Crota, Son of Oryx — Drop his shield with sustained fire, grab the sword he drops, and stagger him to open a damage window. Repeat the cycle, manage the adds, and he goes down.
